Use of finite element mesh in a structural model is very common. From modelling a slab/floor diaphragm, shear wall, foundation to silo, clarifier or culvert - plate element is used in almost all types of structural model.

In this entire video series on plate mesh generation, I will discuss about different mesh generation approaches and how we can model a plate mesh properly in STAAD following correct procedure.

In the fourth part, I have covered the basics of physical modeler, how we can generate a physical object and FEM model easily in this module including modelling of floor panel/slab and shear wall and can be edited any time. Also I have discussed about different types of loading options available in this module including panel and region load option.
