Set in a virtual city, TORN City is a text-based adventure game where anything is possible. The aim of the game is to become the wealthiest, strongest and most successful resident in the city. You start at the bottom, literally with $750 TCD (TORN City Dollars) to your name and you live in a shack. You have no job, friends, weapons and your strength, defence, speed and dexterity stats are low. You aim is the climb to the top, but there's no set rules to get there.

You can literally be anyone, do anything and go anywhere.

Early on you will meet George, an old-timer in the city who's job is to help get you started.

Explore the City, search the dump to find items. One man's junk is another man's treasure.

Get a job, start at the bottom and get paid a daily salary. As you earn more working points you can consider promotions to earn more.

Alternatively, you could start a business. Employ other players to work for you.

Spend your virtual wage on buying items and weapons to use, trade or resell.

Upgrade your property, buy, sell or rent property to other players for increased income.

Equip yourself with armour and weapons and find others to attack, or keep your hands clean and put a bounty on other players heads to be claimed.

Visit the city casino and try your luck at the games on offer, like foot roulette.

Search the TORN City Times classified ads for a potential relationship. Maybe get married.

Travel to foreign countries in the search for exotic items to buy. Bring them back home to TORN City to sell for huge profits.

Commit crimes for extra $$$. Start with easy petty crimes like pick-pocketing and work your nerve stats up to full-on org

Join or create your own faction. War against other factions to claim territory and earn respect.

Complete special agent missions. Get rewarded for those you're successful at.

Invest in the TORN City stock market. Watch your profits grown in realtime.

Buy, modify and upgrade cars to race in illegal street races.
