Remember The 1997 McDonald's All American MVP! Where's KENNY GREGORY? Stunted Growth

In high school Kenny Gregory was one of the best players in the 1997 class. He was known for his high flying dunks and being the best prospect out of Ohio that included local and future NBA all star Michael Redd. Many expected him to stay in state and commit to Ohio State or a school like Cincinnati. In hindsight, either of those would've been better than the system he chose in Kansas, that didn't play the tempo he wanted in his own words, and it made him feel like he didn't meet expectations. Basketball is that kind of game. You have to be aware of who you choose to put your future in the hands of. It's always best you chose a place you can flourish as soon as possible, especially if you've already built a name for yourself in high school. No need for the big named program at that point. Take Larry Hughes for example.
Kenny stayed 4 years at kansas and went undrafted in 2001, then made his living playing overseas after it was clear he should move on from his NBA dream.
He was still a solid player, that had an interesting story but for these reasons, he didn't become the player he had the opportunity to be leaving high school. Remember Kenny Gregory? The 1997 McDonald's All American MVP! Where is he? What Happened? Stunted Growth.
