Look, y’all, get used to a bunch of gaming news these next few months. Major console generational turnover only happens every, what 5 to 8 years, and we’re just in the midst of this big cycle. Sony’s going to announce the details of the PlayStation 5 like any minute, and then there will be the big holiday season where all the interest will be around, who’s selling more units, who’s winning this cycle, etc.

But in the background, don’t forget Nintendo, whose Switch platform doesn’t quite lineup with the bigger cycle, and has been quietly killing it recently in terms of sales. In fact, according to Bloomberg, Nintendo is increasing production of the Switch by another 20%, raising its goal to as much as 30M units for this fiscal year.
