How do you flirt while wearing a mask?

This question is what birthed this episode with my friend, relationship coach Eldrick Garcia (@eldrikg). We were on the phone catching up a few weeks ago and I asked just as a normal part of our conversational flow. He and I met about a year ago, and he’s been instrumental in a lot of my growth, including encouraging me to do stand up.

In this episode, Eldrick talks dating and relationships in the time of Covid, including how he’s adapting and creating date nights with his wife of 9 years. He gives his thoughts on online dating, how and when to slides into someone’s DMs and reaching out to your ex during quarantine. He believes, and I agree, that we have to get brave and resourceful, given things have changed.

I learned a lot, including a new acronym. Which apparently isn’t even new. I’m just out of the loop.

Eldrick strongly encourages using this time for some self reflection and getting clear on what you want for yourself, not just in relationships. Being solid in yourself and clarity is key.
