Building A OO Gauge Model Railway: Modelling Techniques - Painting Embossed Brick Work

Описание к видео Building A OO Gauge Model Railway: Modelling Techniques - Painting Embossed Brick Work

In this short video I show you a technique to get a highlighted brick effect on embossed plastic brick. This technique can be applied to Wills or Slaters type embossed sheets and would work equally well on foam board or other mediums too.

The enamel paints used in this video were as follows:

Revell Enamel Matt 83 ‘Brown’
Revell Enamel Matt 85 ‘Rust’

Acrylic paint was used for the mortar coating combining black and white to produce my own tone of grey.

Try experimenting with different colours to achieve other tonal effects dependent on the type of stone or brick you are trying to replicate. There is no end to the combinations you can try, just take a look in the real world to help identify those colours.

Once done, weathering powders, dry brushing or highlighting individual bricks in other colours can be carried out to further enhance the brick or stone work.
