Director Maurice Linane agreed to shoot a video for the song. He had worked with everybody from U2 and The Cranberries, to Tom Waits and the Rolling Stones, so we were fortunate to get him on board.

In the lead-up to the shoot, he phoned to tell us that he had found the perfect location: a toilet.
Not just any loo, though. Our video set was to be the toilets in the Kitchen nightclub at the Clarence Hotel, Dublin.

Maurice asked us to invite along friends, who were required to come in their clubbing gear, despite the fact that the shoot was taking place on a Sunday morning.

I had to sing into the camera, which was set up in front of the bathroom mirrors, while various clubbers were coming and going, doing their hair and retouching their make-up.

Declan was to play mime guitar beside me.

We started shooting and after about 30 minutes I could see Maurice wasn't happy. He explained that I wasn't giving him much to work with in terms of performance.

I suggested that a few drinks might help. The runner was dispatched and returned with a bottle of tequila and a carton of orange juice.

After each run-through, I'd throw one back.

I lost count of how many times we performed the song that day. Needless to say, it was the most fun I ever had on a video shoot.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
