Chevy Silverado Instrument Cluster Repair

My Chevy Silverado Instrument gauge cluster went on the fritz... again. Last time resoldering the main connector fixed this issue. Check it out here:    • Chevy Silverado Instrument Cluster DI...   This is the number one issue that fixes a lot of folks initial issues with their gauges.

The issue is a bit different this go around. This time only the engine light and night time back lighting lights up, all the gauges froze in there last position, this happened right in the middle of driving. I did check the main connector and even reflowed it and it did not help with this issue. I scoured the internet for fixes and various forms and also on reddit and found on the front of the dash there are resistors that are prone to detaching from their pads, which is a easy thing to fix. that I'll try here in this video.

If solder reflowing does not work the next step will involve replacing components which I'm not going down that path it would be kind of a shotgunning approach and involve a lot of time replacing parts. For me it would be more cost effect to find a company that restores/rebuilds instrument clusters.
