In this demo, I demonstrate use of a variety of modern techniques of audio implementation to create a realistic ambient sound system and dialogue in an Unreal Engine level.

Metasounds are used extensively, especially for the ambient sounds. For one example, the thunder, rain, and wind sounds in total are made from only ~20 seconds of actual audio assets, but in Unreal are spliced, recombined and altered to create realistic weather sounds that can be played indefinitely with no repetition.

Audio volumes are used to create realistic acoustics when going into different rooms and environments in the game - such as when you enter interiors - so that the sounds echo, reverberate, and reflect the environment you're in.

Dialogue is implemented via blueprints, as is the special "Beacon" mechanic which guides players to their goals.
