Before this patch, Tidecloak Hideaway was the premier Pirate support card. Regularly playing as a 10 for 5 pullable by Raiding Fleet, the card provided immense round 1 pressure if your deck had enough Pirates in it. However, with the latest patch, there's some competition in the ship slot with Dimun Warship, or Light Longships for Crach synergy.

Earlier in the season, I played a couple of Dimun Warship decks that never really worked out, so I wanted to try Crach in the tried and true Hideaway variant. I also wanted to see if I could decouple Pirates from Warriors, a lot of old Pirate lists play off the Warrior base. Devotion, Harald, Blood Eagle, etc. Just making room for a Holger and moving some Bronzes around. This always felt sorta lame, so I wanted to try to get away from that. Unfortunately, if you want proactive topend points in SK, it's pretty hard to get away from.

In the end, this list was pretty cool. The Boatbuilder ended up feeling worse than it did in the past, since you already have Crach to give armor to Terror of the Seas. It did feel like without Light Longships, the deck didn't take advantage of Crach as much as I would've liked, but the 11 point Hideaways we were regularly getting made up for that. While definitely not better than the other SK decks, it's getting closer. We're some better pirate bronzes, and maybe a topend gold away from people complaining about Tidecloak Hideaway being too strong.
