This year, after Christmas, I wanted to pack up the décor and activities in a way that makes decorating easier and more enjoyable next year.

In this video, I’m sharing my process — from finishing a puzzle I couldn’t quite let go of, to packing and organizing my Christmas décor so it stays in a simple, logical order. My hope is that this will make next year feel calmer, easier, and more fun.

It will be a bit like giving myself a gift next year — one I get to start opening the day after Thanksgiving. As an empty nester, I’ve found that taking the time to do special things for myself around the holidays really does make a difference.
