Diana XR200 .30 Caliber PCP Air Rifle -PART 2- Extended Report Including Benchrest and Hunting

Описание к видео Diana XR200 .30 Caliber PCP Air Rifle -PART 2- Extended Report Including Benchrest and Hunting

In this second video on Diana's new XR200 pre-charged pneumatic pellet firing air rifle in .30 cal we look at long range accuracy in the form of a benchrest card shot at 91 yards and hunting capability in the form of some mid-sized fur-bearing animal pest control.

Let's address the elephant(s) in the room.

The number two comment/question I received after posting my Box to Bench video was when will it be available. I don't know. It should be soon. I believe the projected price will be lower than the estimate they gave us at SHOTShow.

The number one comment/question, and it came from all angles, was that the rifle, for a .30 cal, was underpowered. The XR200 fires a 44 grain JSB pellet at 715 or 716 FPS. All the time. It's very consistent. Very. That's 50 FPE, and some, maybe many, people thing that's underpowered. There are .30 cal pellet rifles that put out more power. This is an undisputed fact. Diana probably could have engineered more power into the XR200, but remember it's a multiple caliber rifle, and I suspect there's only so much space at the top and bottom of the power curve if you want this type of consistency.

My other thought, if you care to know, is that 50 FPE is about all that's needed for anything on our continent (North America) that you would legally and ethically be hunting. I would not hesitate to take this out on a coyote hunt and feel confident in every shot out to and past 50 yards. And I know if I have the right window under the right conditions, the shot will be on target and humane. My evidence is in part two of this video.

CAUTION. This video contains pest control, AKA hunting. If you find these images disturbing you should not watch the second half of this video. If you find "paper punching" boring, you might want to skip the first part from about 10 minutes in to about 22 minutes.

Thanks to Diana for trusting me to be a part of the introduction to this finely crafter air rifle. Shooting it has really been a pleasure. Thanks to DonnyFL for the Sumo, which is the moderator I'd recommend for this gun based on my testing. Finally, thanks to Northeast Airguns, who supplied the Pard for a previous video. Without that fine piece of kit the hunting portion of this video wouldn't be possible. Also worth mention is the Element Optics Helix HD. The 2-16 zoom range is a perfect compliment to an add-on like the Pard.
