Suburbia is not what I thought it would be. I don’t know if I knew I’d settle in this quickly. My wife and I always talked about moving back to the city. We wanted to be at the heart of it, the epicenter, where all the things happened.

Two kids in, and we’ve come to realize that we want to be where each other is. Maybe one day, the city will call our name loud enough that we’ll actually answer. Until then, matching trash cans, HOA, and community landscaping is more than enough for us. Home is where the heart is, and right now the heart is in suburbia.
