Una de las actividades más características de CESVIMAP son nuestros Crash Test. Turismos, vehículos industriales y motocicletas se someten a diferentes ensayos normalizados, la mayoría según los estándares RCAR (Reseach Council for Automobile Repair). RCAR, del que CESVIMAP es miembro, aglutina a los más importantes centros de investigación del automóvil a nivel mundial.
El crash test delantero simula un impacto a velocidad moderada (entre 15 y 16 km/h), sobre el 40% de la parte frontal izquierda. El vehículo colisiona contra un bloque indeformable de hormigón de 35 toneladas (girado 10°, en sentido antihorario, respecto del eje longitudinal del vehículo).
El ensayo trasero reproduce el efecto que tendría un impacto sobre la parte posterior de un vehículo. Una barrera móvil alcanza al móvil objeto de estudio a una velocidad entre 15 y 16 km/h, sobre el 40% de su parte trasera derecha, con el vehículo girado 10°, en sentido antihorario, respecto de su eje longitudinal.

One of the most characteristic activities of CESVIMAP are our crash tests. Passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles are subjected to different standardized tests, most of them according to RCAR (Reseach Council for Automobile Repair) standards. RCAR, of which CESVIMAP is a member, brings together the most important automotive research centers worldwide.
The front crash test simulates an impact at a moderate speed (between 15 and 16 km / h), on 40% of the left front part. The vehicle collides with a 35-ton non-deformable concrete block (rotated 10 °, counterclockwise, with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle).
The rear test reproduces the effect an impact would have on the rear of a vehicle. A mobile barrier reaches the mobile object of study at a speed between 15 and 16 km / h, over 40% of its right rear part, with the vehicle turned 10 °, counterclockwise, with respect to its longitudinal axis.
