Railfanning Sept. 20, 2024: The LAST day of Caltrain Diesels North of San Jose

The South Bay Area and the entire SF peninsula was a railfanning hotspot on September 20, 2024, as this was the LAST day any of Caltrain's original fleet of almost-40-year-old F40PH model locomotives were scheduled to be running, or ANY Diesel trains to San Francisco, for that matter; as the day after would be the first day of all-electric commuter train service using their new KISS Electric Multiple Unit trains they ordered from Swiss manufacturer Stadler. On top of this commotion, Amtrak's morningly run for their long distance service that runs from LA to Seattle, the Coast Starlight, was being lead by their "Day 1" heritage unit, # 301! Also enjoy several Capitol Corridor trains and snippets of my first ride on ACE!
