Actor Drew Carey (The Drew Carey Show, The Price is Right) tells the 2024 Writers Guild Awards audience who were the "real heroes" of the 2023 WGA strike.

Carey was honored at the the 2024 Writers Guild Awards for providing free meals to writers throughout the 148-day writers strike.

The 2024 Writers Guild Awards LA. show was held on Saturday, April 14, 2024 at the Hollywood Palladium and hosted by Niecy Nash-Betts, an Emmy and NAACP Image Award-winning actress and producer (Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Rookie: Feds).

The Writers Guild Awards honor outstanding writing in film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio, promotional, and graphic animation categories.
