I had an issue with growling due to aftermarket tuning tires that were installed on some of my GT and DTM cars. I don't believe the tires themselves were the issue, though the Ortmann neoprene tires, ordered from Germany are made differently than the Carrera factory tires. Many people will replace the wheels, but if you are like me and money is tight, machining them might be a work around.

I found the culprit was a tighter fitment against the Carrera wheels, which have recesses, or divots, for some reason. I made a track piece specifically for machining the wheels to get the tires away from that strange wheel surface.
