Equipped with body armor, night-vision gear, and a camera system, Cairo helped secure the perimeter, detect hidden dangers, and protect the team in total darkness.

His courage proved that even in an age of drones and satellites, nothing replaces the instincts of a loyal dog — or the bond between handler and companion.
