“The Student Talks program had such a profound impact on my future career. It was [about] taking risks. That was something that challenged all of us in that cohort, to take that risk, to get up on that stage, to memorize a speech, to deliver it.”

Ashton Cofer considered himself much more comfortable in the lab than on stage. But pushing himself to present a TED-style talk on behalf of his robotics team not only boosted his confidence, but helped propel him into his life's work.

At TEDNext 2024, alumni of the TED-Ed Student Talks program gathered as TED conference attendees. While they were there we checked in with them about the impact the program had on their lives, both during their participation and since.
