crashing into the nomad sessions this week is heavy beat brass band with their version of 'blackbird special' by the dirty dozen brass band.

heavy beat are the uk's most authentic new orleans-style brass band, bringing the vibrant, soulful sounds of mardi gras music to life, just as it was meant to be played.

hbbb is comprised of eight of birmingham's most exciting young musicians: alex and max astbury on trumpet, dan spirrett on tenor sax, dave sear on trombone, felicity evans on baritone sax, charlie lancaster on sousaphone, jonno gaze on bass drum, and antony stevens on snare drum.
