Wild Camping in Kintail | Snowy Winter Mountains

Welcome back to another Outdoor Intrigue adventure and it's a GOOD one! We're out wild camping for Meg's birthday in Kintail and the Highlands treat us to some glorious late winter weather.

It's clear, still, snowy, sunny, full of stars, full of views and possibly our most scenic wild camp ever 😱 we bag three new Munro's, Carn Ghluasaid, Sgurr nan Conbhairean and Sail Chaorainn in the wild and remote Scottish Highlands. On this trip, we test out some new kit and eat cupcakes for breakfast at over 900m whilst watching the sunrise over the mountains.

Is there a better way to spend your birthday?

Whenever we head out in the winter mountains, we take ice axes, crampons and make sure we have fully charged battery packs. We're constantly assessing the route against our abilities, have a back up plan and aren't afraid to turn back if the conditions aren't on our side. The mountains will always be there.
