Magpie Mine | Monsal Dale | Peak District | Circular Walks | Hikes | Visit Derbyshire

Описание к видео Magpie Mine | Monsal Dale | Peak District | Circular Walks | Hikes | Visit Derbyshire

A 8 and half mile circular walk starting at Magpie mine, going through the beautiful Derbyshire village of Ashford In The Water, up towards Monsal Head where you will get an amazing view on the viaduct below. You then follow a path through the woodland until reaching the Monsal weir, where you can go for a swim if you want to, before continuing through the valley, up through the village of Sheldon and back across fields to where you started at Magpie Mine.

There are a few decent hills on this route but you do get some beautiful views for the work. There are pubs in Ashford, another at Monsal Head and at Sheldon if you wanted to stop for food or drinks on the way round to make a day of it.

I parked in the lay-by just outside Magpie mine and although its not massive, I have never struggled to park here. Other places you can park are at Great Longstone (near Monsal Head Hotel) White Lodge car park, just off the A6 or on street parking in the villages of Ashford in the water and Sheldon, although this may be limited.
