WWE No Way Out 2006: Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker (SmackDown vs RAW 2007)

On the same night that Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio battled to become number one contender, Kurt Angle entered the main event of WWE No Way Out 2006 to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker.

Originally, Batista was the World Heavyweight Champion heading into 2006. However, an injury led to him having to vacate the world title, leading to an over the top battle Royale taking place on SmackDown. Switching over from RAW, Kurt Angle arrived on SmackDown to compete in the match, last eliminating Mark Henry to become World Heavyweight Champion. Following a successful defense against Henry at the 2006 Royal Rumble, Angle was greeted by the return of The Undertaker. The Deadman hadn't been seen since Armageddon 2005, where he'd been victorious over Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell.

As two masters of their craft, Kurt Angle and The Undertaker were eager to showcase who was the superior athlete. Kurt Angle was in his prime, while The Undertaker was also at a great stage in his career. At No Way Out, could Kurt Angle retain the gold and head into WrestleMania 22 as champion, or would The Undertaker add another title to his list of accolades?
