Shannon Pearl - Wild Folk Sessions - #1 - 'Natures Children' - Live at The Wherry

Описание к видео Shannon Pearl - Wild Folk Sessions - #1 - 'Natures Children' - Live at The Wherry

I spent the whole day at the beach, in a little bay called The Wherry just below Souter Lighthouse in Sunderland.

There I stayed for many an hour, admiring scenery and listening to nature's music, in the form of lapping waves, skittling pebbles dragged by the tide and songful magpies. All which you will hear live, from the location on this video.

The song that features is an original tune inspired by wintry days and the longing to be able to do more than is humanly possible to preserve the natural habitats around the world. the lyrics reflect this sentiment:

"the icy breath of morning has settled pon the sill
while tracks of night time journeys I see in snow capped hills
I hear the voice of songbirds as they sing their waking tunes
And my heart is filled with longing to share this life with you

we belong to depths of winter
And to autumn colours of gold
We all are summers children
And in spring our wings unfold

On earth we will live our whole lives
And we must not forget
To cherish our mother
For she is all we have "

This is the first in a series of videos like this one, with a very stripped back, organic style - always performed in nature and including nature's voice, of course.

I hope to release a live 'Wild Folk Sessions' EP in the new year, with a collection of all my outdoor recordings.

Thank you for listening/ watching. If you like what you hear then please don't hesitate to find me where you listen to your music most, and subscribe to this channel for more!
