Panacea III - Mgarr ix Xini

The Maltese coastline has many treasures. Some are well known and often feature on holiday postcards. Others though are less known, even to the locals.

Mgarr ix-Xini in Gozo is a well hidden treasure-trove of marine biodiversity and whilst we have a privilege to show it to you we ask you in return to treat it like a precious gem that it is.

Its small size is an asset in itself since the mini gorge can be more easily monitored and managed, through, for example, the deployment of permanent moorings at the mouth of the gorge to minimise anchoring impacts on sensitive marine species and habitats.
