Episode 5: Grand Cayman

Stingrays. Snorkels. Starfish.

We had an awesome day in Grand Cayman! Here we booked a 3-stop excursion with Native Way Watersports.

Since Grand Cayman is a tender port, the ship anchored at sea and we had to board a water shuttle to get to port. Then we jumped on a bus which took us to the Grand Cayman Yacht Club where we boarded a smaller boat for our excursion. Our first stop was Stingray Sandbar where we swam with and held Southern Atlantic stingrays, which are considered one of the friendliest and most playful species in the waters surrounding the Cayman Islands; they are actually nicknamed, “puppies of the sea.” Fun fact, if you kiss a stingray, it brings 7 years of good luck! Then we had time to snorkel at Coral Gardens and visit Starfish Point to hold, you guessed it, starfish. This excursion was truly an amazing experience! We could’ve snorkeled for hours, if we didn’t have to get back to our ship so soon!
