Went through the backdoor into the popular North Fork Big Pine Lakes area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Beautiful & tedious weekend trip off trail checking out a new area to me. I had been really wanting to see Temple Crag from right below so this was a perfect opportunity. Contact Pass is definitely steep & loose on the north side, more forgiving on the south side. Cheers to a wonderful late September outing.
