An opposition party said two people were killed and a dozen more were injured in violent clashes on Monday (24/6) between police and anti-government demonstrators in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Trouble broke out as JI supporters assembled in Rawalpindi to stage a march to Islamabad for a sit-in protest outside Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's secretariat. The JI supporters claim the protest was against alleged corruption, heavy taxation and inflation under the Bhutto
government.
