Gene Freese - 5 Pinch Hit HR's in 1 Season, Tied the MLB All-Time Record

As usual, I forget something. A key highlight. This time I didn't mention his Pinch-Hit records. Oh, it's in the text, I just blew right past it. Derp !
Eugene Lewis Freese nickname : Augie 3rd Base MLB Debut : 1955. My dad got his autograph in 1956 when he was on the Stars.
Signed with the Pirates in 1953. Played 17 seasons of pro ball, 12 of those in the majors, with 6 different teams. When he was on the Pennant Winning Reds, he went 1 for 16 in the 1961 WS loss against the Yankees. But he is one of the All-Time leaders in MLB History with 9 Pinch-Hit HRs, and tied the ingredients season record with 5. Gene broke his ankle at ST in 1962 and was never the same, though he did stay in the bigs until 1966. Supposedly, Gene gave Pete Rose the name "Charlie Hustle". Gene has a few nice looking cards from various teams. Ssoo Gene is at bat. His brother George is on the other team in the outfield behind pitcher Tommy Lasorda who throws at Gene. Tommy should not have done that. Because, George saw that and was so mad at Tommy that he charged the mound. He charged his own pitcher in defense of his little brother. Cool.

Rufus Crawford - nickname : Jake Outfielder MLB Debut 1952. An Air Force veteran who worked for the Ft. Worth police dept. Played 9 years of Pro ball, but played in only 7 big league games, and was yanked after striking out badly, replaced with fellow rookie Jay Porter.

Danny Baich - Catcher 15 years in the minors. Never saw the majors. Army veteran. Played for the Solons in 1955 and 56.

George Risley nickname "the Babe" - 3rd base Never saw the bigs. Played for the Solons in 1956. Lived alone in a loners apartment in Florida. Nobody knew who he was. Drank alot fell off his bike alot. Killed, as the police report said "feebly jogging" across the road. A John doe death. He lay unclaimed for a week. His obituary was 17 words.
