Corona times have been times of distress for people around the globe and artists in particular. The lack of human touch, social gathering, and live shows left artists out of work and far away from their personal expression.

The urge to create and share took 3 multi-platform TelAviv-based artists Jennifer Cohen, Eli Calacuda, and Noam Helfer on a journey of joint creation.

Together they created 6 videos, 6 short poetic stories, each up to one minute, connecting with our everyday life’s short attention span.

They decided to call the series “Shi.Kun”
In Hebrew, Shikun means apartment blocks. They filmed the entire series in the garden outside their house.
In Japanese, Shi means poetry, in Chinese, Kun means distress.

This is the poetic movement in times of distress and lockdown.


Jennifer Cohen is a contemporary-poetic art creator.
She’s a multi-disciplinary international circus performer, a dancer, and a choreographer.

Eli Calacuda is a photographer and a videographer.
He’s inspired by a strong passion for the movement of the human body as it’s stretched to its limits.

Noam Helfer is a dreamer, lover, visionist, performing artist, musician, singer, album producer, soundtrack designer, illusion artist, and multi-disciplinary events producer.
