In May we spent a week in Madrid which is 4 days too long. Madrid is fairly small, extremely hilly without a lot to do. We stayed near the Prado at the Mercure. We watched a Flamenco Show; ate at Mercado de San Miguel; visited the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum; took a day trip to Segovia; rode the Big Bus Tour 2 1/2 times; visited the Temple of Debod; visited the Royal Palace; and the Prado. This could be tightened into a 3 day schedule easily.
