Major Nelson got HACKED on Xbox

Major Nelson got HACKED on Xbox. Old news? Perhaps. But since we talked about The Pro, banning Xbox players for no reason. Let's take a look at Xbox's former Programming Director and Spokesperson, Major Nelson. Who was asked after PAX 2010. No one knows how he was hacked exactly. Xbox Enforcement assumed he was hacked through social engineering. No one knows what happened to his hackers. At least, I couldn't find anything relating to the whereabouts of Major Nelson's hackers.

In 2010, Major Nelson's Xbox account was hacked by 3 hackers who were known as Fear. They wrote a lot of NSFW stuff on his Xbox details. They also allegedly hacked his Facebook through other emails he used on his Xbox Account. Or he was simply doxed by the hackers finding his Facebook. I'm not even sure. And there is no direct answer as to the hacker's motive. But this went public fast and Major Nelson was informed as soon as possible.

It wasn't really that big of a deal considering Major Nelson had direct contact with the head of Xbox Enforcement. So he was able to get his account back very fast. Xbox Enforcement went on to investigate this but didn't share much info, besides them believing this was a specific targeted attack and that other players on Xbox shouldn't worry. The hackers claimed they can hack anyone through Major Nelson's Xbox account for $60. The problem was that Microsoft was investigating this. Not a very wise choice to hack someone who gets a multi-billion dollar company to come after you.
