Sensex Down 200 Points, Nifty Below 23,600; IT Sector Drags, HCLTech, TCS Top Losers | CNBC TV18

Markets opened on a weak note in the final trading session of 2024, with Nifty and Sensex extending their losing streak due to sharp declines in IT and realty stocks. The IT index led the losses, dropping nearly 2 percent as Infosys, TCS, and HCL Tech tumbled. Realty stocks, including Lodha, Godrej Properties, and DLF, fell over 1 percent, while Nifty Bank slipped 0.5 percent, weighed down by HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank. Gains in Nifty Pharma and PSU banks, up around 0.3 percent, offered limited support.
