This job involves several steps. And it is easy to learn and do yourself. Here is a general guide: 2006 Suzuki XL7 Oil Change is not difficult to do.

Gather the necessary tools and materials: new oil filter, new engine oil, oil filter wrench, socket or socket wrench set, oil drain pan, funnel, and gloves(optional).
Lift the vehicle: Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle off the ground and support it with jack stands for safety.
Locate the oil drain plug: The oil drain plug is usually located on the bottom of the engine. Place the oil drain pan beneath it to catch the old oil.
Drain the oil: Use a socket wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and carefully remove it by hand. Allow the old oil to drain completely into the oil drain pan.
Replace the oil filter: Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter. Before installing the new oil filter, lubricate the rubber gasket on the new filter with a bit of fresh oil. Then, screw the new oil filter into place by hand, making sure it's snug.
Refill with fresh oil: Locate the oil filler cap under the hood and remove it. Place a funnel into the filler hole and pour in the recommended amount of new engine oil.
Check the oil level: Once you've added the new oil, replace the oil filler cap and start the engine. Let it run for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes, then turn it off and wait a few minutes for the oil to settle. Check the oil level using the dipstick and add more oil if necessary.

Dispose of the old oil properly: Pour the old oil from the drain pan into a sealed container and take it to a recycling center or auto parts store for proper disposal.
Lower the vehicle: Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground and remove the jack stands.
Clean up: Wipe up any spilled oil and dispose of any used materials properly.
That's it! You've successfully changed the oil on your 2006 Suzuki XL7. Make sure to follow your vehicle's specific maintenance schedule and consult the owner's manual for any additional guidance.
