The purpose of the CPA Evolution initiative is to update and restructure the entire CPA Exam to align with the skills needed of newly licensed CPAs. The new version of the CPA Exam will roll out to CPA candidates by January 2024. Here are five things you need to know about CPA Evolution. Parts passed before Jan. 1, 2024, still count toward CPA licensure. The 18-month passing window remains in effect. Candidates who pass any section after July 1, 2022, will get an extension until June 30, 2025. The discipline section you take does not need to be your field of study. Be mindful of blackout dates when scheduling your exam. No CPA Scam sections can be scheduled from Dec. 16, 2023 through Jan. 9, 2024.
