What is Engineering Mode for?

For those asking what is Engineering mode for? I’ve covered this in past videos but here is a quick guide.

1. Your can see software/hardware version numbers of various modules in the car. This is not a complete version list. You will need to use Carscanner with OBD adapter to see other module version numbers like BMS & ICCU.

2. You can also see the status of the installed Wifi Module which could be used for future Wireless Carplay & Android Auto support.

3. There are various diagnostics & resets.

4. You can also check for DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

5. You can log various things to USB drive. Sometimes future features crop up in here also like the new route planner which got previewed last year on this channel exclusively.

6. WARNING:There are also various wipes and resets which you have to be very careful about using as they may damage your head unit.

7. You can also i believe enable an Android Secure developer console but I’ve no idea what can be done with that feature.
