This area is said to be the birth place of Japanese jeans due to the indigo dye industry. Kojima famous for its jeans is in Kurashiki. Kojima jeans are also available at the shops.

The canal is very popular with tourist. Chances of taking a boat ride is higher by booking in advance as its sold out quickly.

Autumn is a beautiful time to visit the canal area.
