ASMR - A Presidential shoe shine - Thursdays' President Boots

Hey everyone !
 
Today we have a presidential shine for these Thursday President Boots ! These are my personal work boots. I am going to do more of a spit shine than a mirror shine (which is a type of mirror polish) just because I know in a bout 2 days the sine will be pretty scuffed up. For my personal work boots I usually only do a high shine but today I felt a little fancy. I have also heard that you cant really mirror polish greasy/oiled leathers. Ive heard that the wax doesn't stick well and the polish flakes or rubs off easy so I wanted to give it a go (these Thursday President Boots are the only oiled leather I have). What I found is that you can absolutely mirror shine oiled/greasy leather. I did notice it was a tad more difficult to get the wax to adhere to the boot. The wax seemed to want to smudge off, but after getting the foundation on by adding a bit more pressure the rest of the shine went as normal. I also found that the leather itself ends up feeling a bit sticky where only 1 or 2 coats were applied, however these boots always felt a little sticky compared to my smooth calf leather. I did notice that the mirror shine does come off easier than on smooth calf but not by much and in all honesty if you are expecting a mirror shine to last more than a day or 2 with out a touch up you're asking a bit much. Especially if they are work shoes. The mirror shine on these oiled boots didn't spontaneously fall off it comes off the same as it would have on any leather , bumps and scrapes


So all in all this is my verdict its mildly different. application just takes a small adaption of pressure for the foundation. The stickiness is just a tad more noticeable than oiled leathers already are. The durability of the mirror shine is perfectly adequate. So shine up those oiled leathers if you want ! they sure look good !
