In a remote place in Peru, in the southern Cusco region, around one thousand people from four communities come together each year to face an amazing challenge: the renewal of the Q'eswachaka Bridge. The Q'eswachaka, made exclusively of vegetal fibers, is the last preserved suspension bridge in the Andes. Despite the existence of a modern steel bridge nearby, residents of the local community gather every year to rebuild the Inca rope bridge according to the old traditions as a way to honor their ancestors and the Pachamama (Earth Mother).
