In his first visit to Israel since 1967, PLO Chairman Yasser
Arafat called on the widow of Yitzhak Rabin on Thursday night
(9/11) to offer his condolences over her husband's assassination.
Flown into Israel aboard a helicopter, the Palestinian leader
hailed his late peace partner as "a courageous man." On Friday,
Israeli newspapers featured front page photographs of Arafat,
without his traditional Arabic head-dress, alongside Leah Rabin,
drinking coffee against a background of flowers.
