Jean Baptiste Camille Corot - A Collection of Figure Paintings

This collection contains many figure paintings by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. Although Corot is very well known for his landscape paintings, his figure paintings are also poetic.

Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot is a 19th-century French painter famous for his landscape painting. He was the leading painter of the Barbizon school which is the naturalist movement in landscape painting. Barbizon school painters were driven by their passion for painting en plein air in reaction to the romanticism movement which is stylized and idealized depictions of figures and landscapes. The Barbizon school greatly influenced later movements such as Impressionists and post-Impressionists.
