The Indian Indices opened higher today on the one-hour special ‘Mahurat Trading’ session on the occasion of Diwali amid bullish global cues.

The Sensex was up 267.08 points or 0.32 percent at 84,630.45, and the Nifty was up 80.90 points or 0.31 percent at 25,924.05. About 1016 shares advanced, 284 shares declined, and 85 shares unchanged.

Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Motors, Adani Ports were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were ICICI Bank and Asian Paints.
