Bluewater shopping centre opened on 16 March 1999 in a former chalk quarry after ten years of building works, the site including car parks occupies 240 acres (97 ha) and has a sales floor area of 154,000 m2 (1,600,000 ft2) over three levels. Located in Kent, traditionally known as the Garden of England, overall site of 240 acres is surrounded by a 50 acre landscape of lakes, parkland and trees making it the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy. And also there is big food court.

Bluewater is just off junction 2 of the M25 between Dartford and Gravesend in Kent. For those that travel by car there are 13,000 car park spaces and by train from London or the Medway towns Greenhithe station is linked to Bluewater.
