Sangley International Airport Update

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) has approved the joint venture between the Cavite provincial government, Yuchengco-led House of Investments and Luis Virata’s Cavitex Holdings Inc., which will develop and operate Sangley Point International Airport

HI, which controls EEI Corporation—a quadruple A-rated general engineering contractor—has partnered with Cavitex Holdings, formerly Coastal Road Corporation, known for developing the Manila-Cavite Expressway and expanding the Coastal Road.

House of Investments and Cavitex Holdings established a consortium and brought on board bilyonaryo Lucio Tan’s Macro Asia Corp., Samsung C&T Corp. Munich International GmbH, and Ove Arup & Partners Hongkong Ltd. to participate in the project.

The PCC declared the joint venture is unlikely to substantially prevent, restrict or lessen competition.
