Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib ji is the 6th Guru of Sikh Religion. He is known for Building the Akal Takhat as well as being the 1st Sikh Guru to engage in warfare and also for getting 52 Rajas released from the imprisonment of Jahangir.
Shri Guru Hargobind ji is also the reason why Bandi Chhor Diwas is celebrated. Because on this day Guru Hargobind ji (6th Sikh Guru) was released from Gwalior prison by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Guru Hargobind Sahib ji also freed 52 other Hindu kings with him. This festival is celebrated as a victory of good over evil.
