Telangana Government’s ‘You Quote, We Pay’ Scheme | Solving Faculty Shortage in Medical Colleges
@etvtelangana @tgpsc-aspirants
The Telangana Government has announced an innovative policy intervention titled “You Quote, We Pay” to address the chronic faculty shortage in government medical colleges.
Under this scheme, specialist doctors can quote their expected salary, and the government will appoint candidates offering the lowest viable bid within an approved ceiling, with salaries going up to ₹6 lakh per month, nearly three times the regular starting pay of professors.
The scheme targets high-demand and hard-to-fill medical specialties such as Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology, and prioritises remote districts like Adilabad and Nizamabad.
Initially, the policy will be implemented in 10 medical colleges, selected based on Electronic Bio-metric Attendance System (EBAS) data, especially where low attendance could invite action from the National Medical Commission.
