Best Mosquito Repellent Device plus Money Saving Tips and Hacks

Описание к видео Best Mosquito Repellent Device plus Money Saving Tips and Hacks

It's surprising how many people don't know this exists. Perhaps some have heard of the classic little Thermacells that are sold in the big box stores, but never knew that there was a way to get the same results with a fraction of the cost. That's why I'm sharing this. I stumbled upon the product called the 'Backpacker' by Thermacell a while ago and it enabled me to save a lot of money by using the bigger, cheaper fuel sources like the butane/propane mixes and by adding the aftermarket adapter which will enable these wonderful devices to run on the even cheaper, green bottles of straight up propane. There is even a way to adapt that even further to run on the big 20lb tanks of propane, but I think it loses it's mobility and it's allure then. After all, I have brought these mosquito deterrents everywhere. Even on a kayak with me! And I'd hate to lose that ability.
On a side note, I have always been suspicious of how much risk there was to dissuading the small denizens from biting me versus the risk of developing cancer or some extra limbs or some other undesirable side effects, so I have done a bit of research and waited quite some time before releasing this video. I not only wanted to know that my 'hacks' worked, but I didn't want to encourage folks to do anything that might be dangerous or unhealthy. That being said, I still would like you to make up your own mind by doing your own homework. One neat resource I discovered was the N.P.I.C. website that explains the effects of various pesticides. If you click on the link below, scroll down to Pyrethrins which is the chemical I used in this video.

If you do decide to recharge the blue pads, mix 1 part pesticide to 5 parts water. Give or take. Mix and dip the pads in it and store them in a different container. I marked the Tupperware so I wouldn't reuse them to store leftover mac-n-cheese or something. And as with all chemicals, keep them out of reach of kids and animals. Pyrethrin is especially bad for cats and fish.
I really hope this video helps you enjoy your time outdoors even more. For you. Your friends and family. And for your pets.
I also wish I had some kind of affiliate links to help you find all the bits and pieces I mentioned, and make a bit of money while doing so, but for now, I'm happy to just share the knowledge and bother you with all those darn advertisements us Youtube creators put in our little movies. Finding the items I mentioned is up to you ;^)
