The first known version of the song is a solo home demo recorded by Cobain in the late 1980s. This version was recorded on Steve Albini's sessions, and was released on compilation album "No Alternative" as "Verse Chorus Verse"(Sappy). Soon, it was released on the box set "With The Lights Out".
