There are eight modes in Basic Math, two each for the four basic operations. Modes 1-4 allow the player to select a number with which to work. After the possible problems have been exhausted with that number, the computer selects another. In modes 5-8 the computer selects a number for each problem. After 10 problems are completed in a given mode, the player's score flashes on the screen.

The game can be played with no time limit or a limit of 24 or, what I played, 12 seconds. I'm not a math whiz so I needed a calculator for mode 7 and some of mode 8.
