You are looking for a good quality and secure product for a value price. If the choice comes down to comparing these two offerings from Schlage and Kwikset, bear in mind that the B60N is a grade 1 product while the Kwikset 660 discussed here is a grade 3 assembly. Many ANSI/BHMA standards set forth different product grades for a particular hardware item. These product grades (grade 1, 2, or 3 - with grade 1 being the highest) are defined by progressive levels of performance benchmarks in each applicable ANSI/BHMA standard. Kwikset does offer a grade 1 product in limited choices of color options in your local hardware store. We chose not to compare the two deadbolts in this post because the most hardware stores only offer the "Smart Key" version of the Kwikset 980S. The Smart Key 980 series will set you back for about the same price as the Schlage B60N. The Smart Key cylinder designs are engineered completely different from the typical locks.
